CommunityCAD
Profile and settings
Every profile tab and every setting, what it does and who can see it.
Your profile at communitycad.dev/users/<your-username> is your public page and your account hub. When you're signed in and viewing your own profile, it shows extra, private tabs only you can see. To get there, choose Profile in your avatar menu.
What everyone sees#
The sidebar shows your avatar, display name, @username, bio, location, website and social links (GitHub, X, LinkedIn), the company you belong to (if any), how many models you have, total views, and when you joined. Visitors get Follow, Donate (if you've set up payouts) and Report buttons.
Above the tabs is your activity graph: one square per day for the past year, shaded by how much you did (uploads, comments and similar). It's public.
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Models | Your public models. You also see your private ones. |
| Activity, Posts, Accuracy, Supporters | Coming soon. These will show an activity timeline, your print posts, accuracy ratings, and supporters. |
Your private tabs#
Only you see these, on your own profile.
Downloads#
- How much of today's and this week's download allowance you've used, and when it resets.
- Your download history: each model and file, whether it went to This website or one of your printers, the date, and whether it used your allowance.
Printers#
Printers linked through CommunityCAD for Klipper:
- each printer's name, when it was linked and when it was last used;
- Rename or Disconnect (disconnecting signs it out immediately);
- Link a printer, which opens /link;
- print stats for your models: how often they've been printed, from shared prints.
communitycad.dev/settings brings you straight here.
Payments#
- Subscription: your tier, its renewal or end date, Cancel or Resume, and Manage billing (Stripe's portal for your card and invoices). See Membership tiers.
- My donations: donations you've made, with Cancel for monthly ones and your history. See Donations.
- Creator earnings: set up payouts with Stripe, then see your balance, this month's earnings, last payout and recent supporters.
Notifications#
Your notifications, with All / Unread and Mark all read. The gear icon opens your notification settings (below).
Editing your profile#
Choose Edit profile on your profile (/users/<you>/edit):
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Avatar | JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 5 MB. Public. Remove location data from photos before uploading. |
| Display name | Shown next to your username. |
| Bio | Markdown is supported. |
| Location, website, GitHub, X, LinkedIn | All optional and public. |
Your username and email address can't be changed here. See Signing in.
Settings#
Content and emails#
On the Notifications tab:
- 18+ content (adults only): Blur (the default), Show or Hide. See Age and 18+ content.
- Product-update emails: occasional news from CommunityCAD, off unless you turned it on.
Notification settings#
Choose which events create a notification on the site:
- new comment on your model; reply to your comment;
- new monthly supporter; one-time donation; someone tried to donate before your payouts were set up;
- milestones; a failed payment.
All are on by default. These control notifications on the site. The emails below are controlled separately.
Print sharing and emails#
On the Notifications tab:
- Email me when someone prints my models: Each time, Once a day (a daily digest, the default), or Off.
- Email me when my post is approved: on by default.
Print sharing privacy#
For prints you share from a printer:
- Show my printer name (on by default);
- Show print time and result (on by default).
Changing either also applies to everything you've already shared.
Emails you always get#
Some emails are part of the service and can't be turned off: donation receipts, a donation you received, failed or ended payments and subscriptions, and notice that one of your models was removed after a copyright complaint.
Deleting your account#
Deleting your account yourself isn't available yet. Email contact@communitycad.dev from the address on your account and we'll do it for you. See Your data and privacy.
