Comments, follows and notifications
Taking part: comments, following, accuracy ratings, notifications and reports.
Comments#
Every model has comments below its tabs. Signed in, you can:
- comment, with Markdown formatting;
- reply to a comment (one level of replies);
- delete your own comments.
Comments can't be edited, so check before posting. The model's creator is notified of new comments, and you're notified of replies to yours.
Likes#
Like a model with the heart button on its page (needs sign-in); like it again to undo. Likes are counted publicly and help with Most liked sorting. Print posts can be liked too.
Following#
Follow a creator (on their profile) or a company (on its page). Following shapes the Following view of the community feed. Follower counts are public; who follows whom isn't listed anywhere.
Accuracy ratings#
Accuracy ratings are how the community says whether a model is actually right and usable. Signed in, open a model and use Rate accuracy in the sidebar to score it from 1 to 5 on:
| Dimension | The question |
|---|---|
| Dimensional accuracy | Do the dimensions match the real thing or the spec? |
| Printability | Does it print well: orientation, overhangs, tolerances? |
| Manufacturability | Can it be made by other methods: machining, laser cutting, moulding? |
| Documentation quality | Is it explained well enough to make and use? |
| Hardware compatibility | Does it fit the parts and hardware it's meant to? |
You can rate a model once; rating it again updates your score. The model's average shows as a star score in its header, and ratings feed into Highest rated sorting and earning tiers.
Please rate honestly, and only models you've actually used or checked. Ratings are public.
Notifications#
The bell at the top shows your notifications, checked every minute. You're notified about:
- comments on your models, and replies to your comments;
- donations and new monthly supporters, and someone trying to donate before your payouts were set up;
- milestones and tier changes;
- failed payments;
- moderation actions affecting your content.
Turn each type on or off in your profile → Notifications → gear icon. See Profile and settings. Emails are covered there too.
Reporting#
Use Report on a model, comment, profile, print post or print profile to flag it to moderators. See Rules, reports and takedowns.
